What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music gives me inspiration in life. It gives me a creative output like nothing other that brings me joy.

What is your music dream?

My dream is to write soundtracks for films, games, and media.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

I would make healthier food more accessible to people everywhere.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

"Journey To The Island" - Jurassic Park (John Williams)

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Snarky Puppy, Haitus Koyote, Vulfpeck

What inspires you to make music?

Sometimes I feel that music and sound is a language I can more easily express than using my own words.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

The message I want to send is that adventure is out there and to break barriers!

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

It feels completely euphoric. Even though I don't show it by staying almost completely still. Unless we're playing funk. Then I am all over the place!

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

While it is easier than ever to gain access to the tools to make music, it makes competition more abundant. I fear the big players in steaming, ie Spotify - Apple Music- etc, are making it quite difficult to make a living on music. I feel that bringing back album sales in physical form and audiences being more open to seeing (or paying more) seeing musicians in a live format. Seeing the Drooble platform is refreshing and makes me hopeful for the future of music!

What do you think of Drooble?

I am in love with the format Drooble takes. It is refreshing to see this in the world of countless streaming sites that take advantage of artists by playing their music and paying quite little to them. This format encourages its users to network with each other, which is vitally important for a healthy community of musicians and for the music industry as a whole.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

The thing that frustrates me most as a musician is the lack of direct opportunity to turn a hobby into a career in music. I just need to remember to keep working hard! It is said by many that those who make it in many creative industries are the ones who refused to give up when others did.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Absolutely! Fort Wayne has a wonderful music scene with quite a handful of music venues - ie. Sweetwater (Theater, Pavilion, & The Clyde) Don Halls Guest House, The Tiger Room, The Brass Rail........... & so many others!

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Networking, networking, networking.... It is a huge factor in getting your music places. Social Media is also another valuable tool.

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

Zircon, Vulfpeck, Ghost Note, Cory Wong, Cory Henry, Metavari
