I got into electronic music and hip hop by break dancing to it as a freshman in high school. Being frustrated with early technology in the 80's I put music on the shelf for 20 years to go to college, get married etc. After my divorce I found music again! I became a composer: https://open.spotify.com/album/1kTMeKRS7ffEqZ17wzXcfC?si=IRaLUbsWS0ymLWOx2_edwg Frustrated not being able to find someone to sing my poetry I started rapping. Am I glad I did! I write semiconcious, meta hip hop. There is a lot of conscious rap out there but none of us are fully conscious. We have moments in meditation or when we're inspired. But most of the human condition is semiconcious. Meta means seeing the thing from a higher perspective instead of from within the thing, like being self-aware.
My life's purpose. It gives me meaning.
To change my culture.
Me. That's where it starts and ends.
So many......hmmm.....Beatbox by Art of Noise?
Beastie Boys, DJ Shadow, Beats Antique, Public Enemy, Chet Faker, Marian Hill. RJD2, Flume, Atmosphere, Radiohead. The Russians: Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Shostakovich, Mussorgsky, Prokofiev.
Music itself. "It's a bridge between Heaven and Earth".
Bring ministry to your art!
At home. Where I belong. But always a little nervous. If you're not then you're doing something wrong!
Great question. An uphill battle but worth it. "The Dream is free but the hustle is sold separately!" Burying Article 13 would be a huge improvement.
I'm new but liking it so far.
Not knowing Ableton!
I perform at open mic's. I host a literary series on occasion. I give dharma talks.
