Tristana Wolff

Bio

Hago canciones desde siempre, pero recién hace un año salí a tocarlas en vivo. Hice un disquito desde mi cuarto, con una guitarra y un casio, que grabé solamente con el micrófono de la computadora y un programa muy básico. "Uturnis" nueve mini canciones de pop lo-fi: https://tanii.bandcamp.com/album/uturnis I made songs all my life, but I just started to play live with a band last year. I made a tiny record from my room, with a guitar and a CASIO, that I recorded with my computer and a basic audio program. What is music to you? What does it give you?

For me music is the love of my life, when I make songs I feel alive and free.

What is your music dream?

My music dream is to be able to live from the music I make, without having to work on anything else.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

Uff there would be so many things to do!!

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Tough question!

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

ESG, Beat Happening, Captain Befheart, Amanda Palmer, Bjork, Fever Ray, Tom Tom Club, Micachu & The Shapes, The Slits, CAN, Connan Mockasin, Blood Orange, The Knife, The Drums.

What inspires you to make music?

My feelings and my thoughts.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

I think my songs reflect honesty, humility and a way to see things in a simple way. I want people to feel that.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I feel like I belong there, as if it were my home.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

I think so many things could be improved in the underground music scene, in the way they get paid (if they do) and the way we se artists as people that do what they love, so they shouldn't be complaining about anything (!)

What do you think of Drooble?

That it needs to keep growing.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

The fact that is really hard to live from music, at least in Argentina, where I live. And no matter how well known you are, you don't make much money in order to pay the bills. Some peolple don't want to think about money, but if you don't, you end up working in a supermarket, I want to focus 100% in my music.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Yes! I love the underground music scene here, in Argentina. I go to festivals and shows and I pay for the tickets!

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

I guess the ability to highlight from the rest, being original, getting to touch peoples hearts, to make an impression on them. One needs to be authentic, personal.
