I am a composer with over 40 years writing. I have a repertoire of completed music which includes: Concertos for Bassoon, Oboe, Flute, Marimba, Clarinet. Dozens of orchestral miniatures, the three moors suite, four pictures of Cornwall suite, A symphony. A number of choral works and a series of songs for soprano voice, a requiem mass, and six jazz madrigals. About 50 pieces for brass band ranging from junior band to championship section ability. Over 20 albums of music for piano and two series of tuition books one for piano and one for violin each consisting of six volumes. A library of over 50 popular songs many of which can be viewed on my youtube account "woodison music" and on my website www.woodisonmusic.co.uk I am always available for commissions at any time.
Music is pretty much just about everything. It is my world - it can bring compassion, joy, and warmth, it can bring peace and can bring everybody together.
For my music to be famous.
Ridding the world of nuclear power and nuclear energy, ridding the world of arrogance and hatred.
Too many to mention but Merry Xmas everyone by Slade and Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody are certainly up there.
Again too many to mention but amongst the bands Queen, ELO, Madness, ABBA, Lighthouse Family, and M People. As for individual singers Heather Small, Lionel Richie, Katie Melua, although there are many more.
Most situations I find I can convert to music.
If a piece of mine can make you re-evaluate a situation then for me my work has performed an important function.
Love it - love the buzz.
Many musicians are somewhat used - I would like to see genuine talent rewarded respectively.
It's new days yet but what UI have seen so far looks very impressive and very encouraging.
Seeing the way musicians are abused and used and seeing how some relative talent-less musicians, singers and artists are made overnight successes by these so called talent shows which seem to specialise in promoting sensationalist rubbish.
I try to see local bands in the Devon area as often as I can giving encouragement wherever possible.
Being a genuinely good performer and always be willing to write music that relates to the situation around them.
One particular up and coming local band is a six piece group in mid Devon called ELECTRIC SPANK - they have one of the most original sounds I have heard in recent years.
