I think most creative folks have walked through “that tunnel” for one reason or another. And this thread I found awhile back had over ~300 comments. If it isn’t a surprise, then maybe it’ll help to remind everyone that it’s okay. Drooble’s pretty great considering you have communities of creators that know what you may be going through. If you’re going through it now, most of us wouldn’t turn down a message in need. If at least to recommend a soothing playlist. Nobody should have to walk those valleys alone. And if an inner voice tells you not to get better, or that you’re “only creative when you’re unhappy,” I certainly hope you’ll hit one of us up. Love to everybody. Each one, teach one.
That’s a salient representation of how that process works. When you are aware enough to view it in its early stages, you can tell when something is wrong or not. I think it’s of great value to recognize that as you go through life, identifying where you are in your patterns or emotional circumstances can play a big part in what kind of creator you can be. I know people who have little things that hold them back, and other people who can’t help but dwell on trauma. Experience dictates where we go from there I supppse. I appreciate the wisdom ^_^
I feel that. It makes you a trail blazer of sorts when it comes to writing your music, which I respect :)
In my personal experience, of nearly 54 years as a musician, I would say that it's been more depressing when I was unable to be creative, and in knowing this, I stay actively involved with my passion. I'm lucky I guess that I've seldom been a writer of lyrics, but I have had bouts of not wanting to play, which for me have been the most difficult times. When ones passion suddenly "appears" to disappear, albeit that the music itself is most probably not the cause of the loss of interest but something external to it, in your life. There are many of us here on Drooble who are more than qualified to offer a helping hand and comforting word. So for those reading this, PM if you need to, we'll chat! :)
Why does making music have an impact on that?
I aways say i like to write b**** songs or cry songs but i love a songwriting challange of any kind!
when your a musician you go thru highs and lows and that it it what spurs me on to write, intense experiences good or bad
