Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.
Nice share Heidi, great song and performance '2USband'! :) 👍
Hi there, Michelle. Thanks a lot for great feedback. This track was made in a svosj, and we know that there are lots of stuff we can do better. We will for sure take your advise into concideration and work our way from there. We will also add slide (lap steel) guitars into the next mixdown, and also beef it up with backingvocals :-)
Great recording! Your studio quality is excellent. I should warn you that my definition of "country" might not be the same as yours. Also, not sure how you guys add your instrumentation so I might suggest something that's not possible... sorry. :) Being from Texas, my first bit of advice would be to loosen up - drop the "g" from most of the words that end in -ing: missing becomes missin' and crying becomes cryin' and so forth. Another thing to try might be to lighten up the orchestral backing tracks and try your hand at some slide guitar or mandolin, or even harmonica or a melodica. Maybe add a 12-string acoustic as a rhythm track? Try brushes or a side-stick pattern with the drums in the beginning of the song so your rhythm section has "somewhere to go" as the song builds. Kudos on a really slick production here... Do you have the lyrics posted somewhere?
It doesn't seem so hard for you to write down country song and play It! I love this sound of drum in this kind of tunes....
