Tony Kyker

Story

Easy going, hard rocking,West Texas born singer/singwriter. I've been a practicing musician for 30 years and still learning new things everyday. As far back as I can recall all I've wanted to do was create and play music. I'm self taugh,i don't know all my scales,or the proper names of the notes kike diminished this or that,i don't know theory by now I'm sure I know more than I realize I just couldn't tell you the technical terms. I picked up the basics by learning songs from my favorite bands like early metallica, megadeth, judas priest,etc.. Matter of fact the very first song I learned was Metallica's "Master Of Puppets". Which was shown to me by friend who had an electric guitar. I'd walk to his place and listen to him jam. One day I asked him to teach me something so thought he'd throw the most difficult song he could play at me to see if I could do it. I'm glad he did because that 30 minutes changed my whole life. He'd play the intro, hand me the guitar and I'd play it back-so on and so forth throughout the song. He was blown away at what appeared to be a natural ability i have for the guitar. Im left handed but since there was only access to right handed guitars for me to learn on I play right handed. of course at that point in my life it didn't even cross my mind that I should get a left handed guitar. I just went for it because I wanted to play that badly but,to be honest,I think playing standard guitar as a lefty is an advantage when it comes to the execution of technics and dexterity on the fret board. Besides I've discovered I have no sense of rhythm in my left hand. Lol!!!

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is my life. I write lyrics when I feel inspired or feel deeply about a certain issue. It's therapy for me in a sense to write out what I'm feeling for one to get it out of my head and make space for the rest of the insanity to come to the surface and it helps me cope with whatever topic it is I'm focusing on at the time.I've heard it said that music is the voice of the soul,I believe that to be truth, when words elude me or there isn't a word created I can find to describe some emotions my guitar takes over. Music is as important as any subject taught in any school. For me Its as necessary as the basic elements needed to be alive Air,Food,Water,Music

At this point. I just want to get my music recorded and out there. Finally out of my head and into yours.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

I'd fire all members of congress and put a people in office that are more in touch with the world today. I'd stop secret societies that are planning to execute the steps necessary for their utopian society or N.W.O.

Too many good ones to pinpoint just one

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Megadeth,Trivium,Disturbed,Devil Driver,Godsmack,A.I.C.

What inspires you to make music?

Different things,a quote,a scenario,a dream,a fight, a unforgettable experience good or bad

What is the message you want to send with your music?

I try to be 100% when l'm writing lyrics. I can't write fiction or about things I don't understand so I write about my life and what's going on around me. Sometimes political but mainly songs about real life. Although my lyrics are somtimes dark there's always a silver lining..a positive outlook to a negative situation. Sometimes. Honesty sells and having someone walk up to you and tell you that a certain song I've written hits home to them that is very rewarding. Connecting with people is what this is all about and doing what I was out on Earth to do. Compose and perform songs that bring people closer together.
