What is music to you? What does it give you?

I lived for music a long time before I ever wrote a song although I did write a lot of poetry when I was a School -boy. I was in the church choir and sang at the national festivals with the school Solo yeah got a couple of well done,s but never won any medals . I had the voice but not the pose or the mouth formations very exaggerated I was embarrassed singing like that. But as an natural singing Burns songs I was invited to all the local concerts to perform . Later when my voice broke I was with our local Skiffle band and realized I could hit notes , so now I was singing at party,s and gatherings. my vocal training held me in good stead, and I was Tam the chanter . More later . Cushtie Bop. I suppose in some ways my songwriting is form of expressing my feelings and thoughts in a way that people will hopefully relate to and say , Yeah thats happening to me thats how I feel thanks for the tip . Some poor souls keep rolling that stone uphill because they actually believe that all they were meant for, to be someone elses something . To feel needed to belong even if there never is any love they quite readily assume the position and let it all happen to them my songs are about what I see and how others deal with their lot and win

What is your music dream?

Ive played all the gigs and made all the appearances I want to , but it would be a massive lift if one day people actually loved my music my songs and the sentiment and hope that went into writing and recording them . all my serious songs are copyrighted so it would be fantastic if some really talented artists actually wanted to cover them , and I am about to put a load of material up to streaming sites. having a healthy sales cheque would be welcome

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

I dont particularly enjoy the extreme polarity of todays politics and I feel that belief has been shattered with Wolves dressed up in Sheep,s clothing and the masses running in all directions at once , being herded to the abattoirs and total mind domination, so that they cant even enjoy the time allotted to them by their maker. I want to say the most relevant and meaningful statements in a way that everyone could use like rock for them to cling onto and raise their heads once more. Amen

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Down in the Glen. Its a very emotional Scottish song that describes not only a love for person or a place or even a lifestyle but it sings about the heart swelling with pride and love for what we have . It has beautiful melody line and was sung by a male tenor . Its really about lives journey and where you hope to be at the end and who you want to be with . I sang it for my parents and family and there was never a dry eye in the house at New Year. thats why its my favourite

At Home and Happy

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

Far too many decent players get upset because no one else calls them awsome, so the y post notices like Had an awsome gig last night and their mates answer yeah man you were awsome, and they werent and they never got asked back. Then they bombard the venue with Whinee requests like it would be awsome to play here again then get totally blanked. Practice more select your best numbers drop the naff ones and communicate with the audience and bring them in. They are your audience that night They could be your new fans. . Rehearse talking to them write down your funnies and stories and talk, Show your personality not your vulnerability thats so last century.
