With a background in poetry Brotherman has always been known for his thoughtful lyrics, married with the warmth and clarity in his voice. His eye for detail and acute awareness of his surroundings make him a contemporary social commentator with a refreshing outlook. Well travelled in his youth, he spent his time watching the social comings and goings of the people who surrounded him as well as taking in the music and culture he was exposed to. The grittiness of Brotherman’s teenage life in Hackney combined with his easy going caribbean upbringing, create his unique sound. Off the back of his critically acclaimed debut release ‘The Light / The Dark’ Brotherman was tipped for Overground success and has since been become known as a rapper’s rapper. A series of unfortunate events has held back and impacted subsequent releases, with ‘Huckleberry’ being a entree for two up-coming projects in 2019.
