Story

Band Bio: Haling from Malvern, UK and Tabasco, Mexico, Techo las Mías, (Maya Brown, violin and Javier Zentella, guitar/bassist), this duet was formed in Barcelona in October 2019. They present an eclectic selection of music from around the world, spanning latin, reggae, funk, jazz, manouche and klezmer. They bring their own distinctive style combining original material, improvisation, and arrangements of traditional melodies from diverse folk traditions. Experience as band: Techo las mias began playing concerts in Barcelona followed by a tour of France, UK, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Serbia, Kosovo, Montenegro and Albania. Their future concerts are going to be in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. This band is on a full time tour! Full time musicians, creating full time. Personal Bio: Maya Brown is a British violinist, who has been playing the violin for 19 years. She first studied classical through the Suzuki method and afterwards studied and learned many other styles including Celtic folk, American folk, jazz manouche, Klezmer and jazz improvisation. She has experience playing in orchestras and ensembles in the UK and abroad as well as playing music for circus, dance and theater. Javier Zentella is a Mexican composer, he studied a degree at Fermatta University with the Berklee college of music program. A professional career of 10 years of playing bass, guitar, piano, percussions and singing behind him; he has performed in almost every touristic site in Mexico, Guatemala and Canada. He arrived to Europe in 2019 to expand his musical knowledge adding klezmer, manouche and balkan music to his repertoire.
