Story

Once upon a time... Hey, I am Taranis, a composer and musician who primarily creates Irish / Celtic folk on rock / metal music base. My main musical idea is to combine modern rock / metal music with traditional Irish music to produce so called Druid Metal. But there is a lot more to the music than just that: I elaborate classical pieces, ancient medieval themes, symphonic and ethereal sounds. As for the Lyrical themes, they are: Celtic folklore, Irish history/mythology, Tolkien, Mysticism, Fantasy and Love and even more.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is one of, if not the most important aspect of my life. Music is how I relate myself to the world and Music means the world to me. Music always gives me something to do. What is your music dream?

My music dream is to make something that will last forever and impress people :)

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

There are some things in this world that simply shouldn’t exist. Some things so evil that nobody should enjoy them, even though sadly millions of people do. People can be misguided, and the best we can do is force them to make better choices. Which is why, if I had all power, I would finally do away with the one thing so despicably evil the very name of it disgusts me. I would finally rid the world of the evil of…

What inspires you to make music?

Music writing is one of my passion or I should say mostly the only thing that makes me feel better. Anyone can inspire from anyone or any object but mine one is unique :) People write music when they feel something but I write music and epecially lyrics when I can't think of anything. I have many sources of inspiration. It’s good to have many places to draw from. However, there are a few composers and musicians that come up tops. I primarily play piano with a bit of acoustic guitar on the side and I moreover enjoy folk instruments and folk tunes as I think there’s nothing like letting music flow in the moment, getting into flow.

As for the the message I want to send with my music. As for me it is the message that: - The Forces of Nature have great importance in our life; - Everything will be alright in the end no matter how hard it seems in the moment; - Peace is just a moment away if you allow it to come.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

It isn't fun. Like guiding a big ship full of humans; like instructing employees in a big company and perhaps like a tiny dust floating in the huge universe. But as for me I prefer performing for smaller audiences.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

According to musicians’ reality nowadays and what could be improved. As I think, looking to the long-term, the core value chain of the music industry is likely to remain largely unchanged. Professional artists release music via record labels or alternatively through an independent publishers. This operating model represents about 97% of recorded music by market share and may see fluctuations – but upheaval is unlikely. In addition, the integration of songwriters, composers and post-production engineers in the development of music is not expected to change, though more work may take place remotely. Artists and labels will retain close links to streaming platforms, venue operators and event promoters to distribute music.

I think that Drooble is a really good platform that it is definitely worth looking into if one is looking to grow as a musician as the platform has several innovative tools that musicians can use to improve their skills and make more money from their craft.

I do think music a real magic and is good to me and for example rescues me many times from desperate situations. So what frustrates me most as a musician? Frustration? Maybe there have been a few but then again... it's only maths. So nothing at all.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Yes. I support local scene even as a fan. By means of collaborating and cross promotion with other artists and bands. Visiting and helping creating of live shows of local bands (and not only local bands) and so on.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

In order to get the music heard by a larger audience as I think most musicians must work hard at cultivating a set of skills and qualities that allow them to succeed and thrive as a professional musician. It needs to have a strong work ethic, persistence, optimism, organization, mental health and a love of the craft. As chasing a career in music can be demoralizing at the best of times.
