Yaanie

Story

As a young boy during the war in Liberia, I fell in love with music and knew I wanted to become an artist. In 2000, while in a refugee camp in Guinea, I started writing, singing and dancing. In 2004, I linked up with some other young men and we formed a group called S. Messenger in which we sang, rapped and danced. In 2005, I joined another group called Suave New Generation and we did a compilation album with ten other artists on it. Unfortunately in 2006, the group dissolved. From 2007 to 2009, I was involved in various projects until I decided I needed to be on my own. So in 2009 until present I have been working as a independent single artist and developing my craft.
