Steve Weible

Musician, Producer, Music Designer, and Record Label Owner

I spent most of my teen years playing in local bands, not very well I might add. As technology advanced I was drawn way more to computers and the things they could do. Couple that with 4 yrs of taking Stage Tech, playing music for school dances, and performing sound and light design for school plays sound design sucked me in. I recently just decided to put that knowledge into creating music and producing and engineering music. I have a passion and love for music and for technology. I have also started a small independent record label UpperLeft Records I distribute to all streaming platforms. Check me out on I hope you enjoy listening as much as I have enjoyed creating.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music to me is a release, a release from the stress of day to day life and a place to put my emotion whether that be anger, pain, sadness, joy, or fear.

What is your music dream?

I would love to produce a great artist or compose a music soundtrack.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

Education and Healthcare. If you have an intelligent and healthy society people will succeed and be better for it.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Blind by Korn and Sweet Dreams Manson version. It was my early teen years and was the main reason i started playing music. I would lock myself in my room and just buy everything i could from Columbia house and BMG I don't even think those are things anymore. I would just let the music consume me.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

There are so many. Slipknot, Killswitch engaged, Skrillex, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem and so many more.

What inspires you to make music?

Passion and love for music and Emotional state of mind is a huge driving force. I'm also always trying to see if i can better my self it's like a competition.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

This is me, this is who I am and my emotional state at the time. Hoping that my hard work brings joy to someone else.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I'm actual very nervous, I tend to get a knot in my stomach at some points it has felt like I could vomit.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

I wish it was easier for musicians to be heard or to get a shot at a big break. There are a lot of people trying to get in to the biz and just not enough listening for things that aren't manufactured radio music.

What do you think of Drooble?

So far it seems like a great place to meet other musicians and get your music heard.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Writers block is a killer. When you start with this great idea and you are just laying down tracks and then boom. Its like your brain shuts off. I tend to get up and walk away for awhile, but find myself in a different mood when i return. That leads to a lot of unfinished tracks just whirling around in PC purgatory.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Absolutely, I'm a music fan first. Living in Seattle is great there is always a cool or interesting act/band/musician performing any given night.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Just drive and keep pushing forward. If that doesn't work just make our music for you if you enjoy creating it and listening to it there is bound to be others who do as well.
