What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is an ancient and sacred form of wordless communication. It's the closest thing to actual telepathy. For me personally, music took me out of a deep, dark place. It's basically my religion now.

What is your music dream?

I'm living it. After many years, I have reached a point of full, uninhibited musical expression. Then again, I wouldn't mind getting an actual income from it. (laughs)

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

I am changing the world. It starts with ourselves. Gandhi once said "BE the change you want to see in the world."

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

"I left my heart in San Francisco" - by Tony Bennett. For some reason, I used to sing that song when I was 7 years old. It did something for me.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

I respect and admire many artists, but I'm mainly influenced by Manish Vyas, Joshua Prem, Desert Dwellers, a lot of Brazilian music and the instrumental reggae of the 1970s. It's really hard for me to pick any favorites, because there's so many who inspire my musical fire.

What inspires you to make music?

Yoga, spirituality, travel and un-tapped creativity inside screaming to be released.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

We are one. Let's un-f**k ourselves and let music be our medicine.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

Blissful.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

The musician's reality is that we spend way to much on production and we never get financially compensated. Or we spend money seeking outside approval for music that's meant to be unique and very personal for ourselves. I'm very D.I.Y. My recordings may or may not be "industry-standard", but I make everything on my own and I don't spend money that could buy a car to create an album. We need to make music simple again. Keep it real, and raw.

What do you think of Drooble?

This website has actually given me hope. I deleted my Facebook account at the beginning of this year.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

The emerging music industry's royalties system. We're getting nickled-and-dimed. It's an era where art as a whole is really unappreciated and not respected. Hopefully, that will change soon. I live to see the day.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

I'm an old man. I don't support a "local scene" anymore. (laughs) Scenes reflect certain genres of music. Not so much what I do.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Be confident. Get your music out there. Don't wait to record the perfectly polished album without mistakes. Put your music out there, and the fans will come. Don't worry if your YouTube channel hasn't gone viral. There are many other platforms and opportunities. I can say this from experience.
