Stacey Soul

Story

I'm from a small town where almost everyone listens to country! NOT ME! I love rock'n roll and it's hard to find like minded musicians in ND. So I started my own solo project. I went to a music school in St. Paul MN where I learned studio production and live sound n lights. I went back home, where there is no industry for my degree, simply to make enough to move somewhere where it is. In my spare time I perform as not only a musician but actress and Drag King.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is everything. It's life, love, excitement, sadness, feeling. It's the one thing in this world that everyone can connect with.

What is your music dream?

My dream is to one day give all the people who message me asking for new music, murch, performance to become a reality. Even if I never get big I'd still love to tour so those who do want to see me live can. I honestly don't want to do anything off stage.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Blue Oyster Cults Godzilla I knew how to sing it word for word without music by the age of 3.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

That's easy: Kiss, Alice Cooper, Marilyn Manson, Black Veil Brides. And there are a lot of others but these are the ones I listen to the most and know majority of there songs.

What inspires you to make music?

100% Boredom. I get bored very easily and one day I picked up a guitar and started teaching myself. Soon after I started writing lyrics. I Never meant to I just did. I haven't wanted to stop since, it allows me to express myself in a certain moment in time. I never meant to have anyone connect with it it just happened, and for that I'm grateful!

What is the message you want to send with your music?

It's for those who are having a bad day or don't think they have worth that's what I want my music to help with. A pick me up on someone bad day, hope to those who don't know if they will see another day, and worth for those who can't see it in themselves.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I've been performing since I was very little, to me it's home. Even though I have anxiety with normal day to day stuff on stage it never have any. I know my material, I know my chords, and the lights, the sound, the crowd it's my literal heaven. The feed back afterwords is always rewarding to my hard work to get there.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Since I live in farm and oil country there's not much of a music scene but the little one we do have I always try to go to shows when I can.

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

Since I lived in Saint Paul and went to a music school here are some up and comings! The Owl-Eyes, Timsarockstar, Trever DeVine and the Immaculate Beings.
