Story

Sonia Madoc (Barcelona, October 23, 1974) is a Spanish singer and presenter who fuses pop, dance and Latin genres with some Caribbean genres. She is known for her career in the music world and for having been chosen as Pamela Anderson's official double at Planet Hollywood in Barcelona. MUSICAL CAREER She began his musical career more than 25 years ago with his performances in the Ruta del Bacalao and publishing several singles. Her first single was released in 1994 under the stage name SONORO. The single entitled 'Get Up And Dance', released by the Max Music label and produced by Carlos Caceres, was so successful that a Spanish version, 'Ponte A Bailar', was recorded. Shortly after, and by the hand of the same producer, 'No Puedo Más'/'This Is The Time' (1996) is released on the label Contraseña Records where the following year she will release a version of Cetu Javu's song, 'A dónde Vas'. The song has a great reception among the youngest public and was played in the most important radio formulas of the country. Sonia becomes a regular character in musical programs on television and is acclaimed by the public which leads her to make a tour-show for national discotheques accompanied by her dancers. In 2000, her artistic life took an important turn when the Ten Brothers (Iván, Toni and Xasqui) proposed her to join the musical duo Sonia & Selena to record the song 'Yo Quiero Bailar' (Candidate to Eurovision 2001). Yo Quiero Bailar', released on the Vale Music label, obtained several gold and platinum discs thanks to the more than 1,500,000 copies sold around the world. They managed to be the song of the summer of that year and to appear in multiple compilations of the summer (Disco Estrella 2001, Caribe 2001...). The worldwide hit was recorded in several languages, such as English and Italian. The following singles from the duo's album, 'Deja Que Mueva, Mueva, Mueva' and 'Que Viva La Noche' followed in its wake. The same album also included the song 'Mucho Por Vivir...En Gran Hermano', the official song of Gran Hermano España which was positioned as another big hit. The success came with a big tour in Spain, Europe and Latin America. After 6 years retired from the public sphere, Sonia returned in 2007 with two singles: 'Dame Vida' and 'Crazy For Love'. In 2008 she releases 'Verano de Luna' with Blanco Y Negro, included in the compilation Caribe Mix 2008 and 'Bajo La Lluvia'. In 2009 they released 'Amazing' and 'A Shining Girl', songs included exclusively in the albums of the Cuatro program Fama ¡A Bailar! (Vol. 3 and Vol.4 respectively). In 2011, the duo reunites again to celebrate the tenth anniversary of 'Yo Quiero Bailar' presenting two new versions of the Hit. In 2012 they release their solo hit 'Bienvenido A La Fiesta' with two versions and a re-release with two more versions. A year later the solo version of 'Yo Quiero Bailar' and the special re-release 'Yo Quiero Besar' (Barcelona Pride Anthem). That same year is released the EP 'Bailemos En El Sol'. In 2015 he releases the single 'Todos A La Bahía', in 2017, the solo version of 'Deja Que Mueva, Mueva, Mueva' and in 2018 'Bésame' in collaboration with the duo Keymass & Bonche. 2019 premieres two new singles, 'Esclavo' and 'Oh La La La'. In 2021 and celebrating the 20th Anniversary of 'Yo Quiero Bailar', she surprises us with a new version accompanied by the multidisciplinary Jorge Javier Vázquez. Her new work, 'Io Voglio Ballare' (2023), comes in Italian, with a renewed and current sound. TELEVISION CAREER & MODEL In addition to her musical career where every year she has performed on stages, festivals and national nightclubs (Prides, Love The 90's...), Sonia Madoc has been combining her artistic career with the world of image/advertising and television. She has worked for several Spanish brands through the best specialized agencies in Barcelona, such as Elite Models, La Agencia, JMA... Her work as a model has been very varied, participating in promotional campaigns starring in TV spots such as Renault Kangoo and Via Digital, or through reports in leading magazines such as Pronto and Lecturas. Model for the Catalan painter Estall, and in the world of photography, working with various photographers of the stature of Alvaro Villarrubia or Salva Musté. Hired by Telemadrid, she worked as a presenter with Jordi Gonzalez, who was her television teacher in the program 'Todo Depende'. Among the programs Sonia has participated in are 'Punt de Trobada' on TV3, Qué Me Dices and Força Barça.... We have also been able to see her as a main dancer in the program La Vía Navarro of Pepe Navarro in Vía Digital. She currently participates as a guest and collaborator in numerous radio and television programs, debates and talk shows in both local and national channels in Catalonia (La Mejor Canción Jamás Cantada de TVE, Sálvame, Plus+ Ho Fem Possible, Zippi Zapping,...). We can also see her performing in different cities of the national territory and in the Molan Los 90's Festival. Within the LGTBIQ+ Community she is very loved, where she has been QUEEN of several national and international prides. In 2012 she was named QUEEN OF PRIDE by the Latino community of Atlanta (USA), chosen for the anthem of Pride Barcelona (2013)....
