I'm a relatively new singer/songwriter (been writing for almost two years).
Music gives me an outlet to express myself and a way to cope with whatever's going on in my life. I'm a pretty shy person, so music is kind of the one thing I feel confident in.
I want to be able to make a living doing music.
I guess ending world hunger or something? I don't know, I'm fifteen I don't even know where I'm going to college.
Come On Eileen for sure. My dad would always play it in the car.
I really like twenty one pilots, I know a lot of people see them as pretentious but I think their songwriting is really interesting. I like how they focus on mental health over traditional love songs, and keep the music catchy and fun.
Everything. But sometimes nothing. Writer's bock sucks. In all seriousness though, I feel like I have to make music. Like I don't even really have a choice in the matter. It gives me a rush when I'm able to harness my creativity, it's deeply important to me.
I haven't really figured it out yet. I guess the one I'm sending right now is "if you don't relate to the songs on the radio, make your own."
Amazing. I get a rush from the audience energy, it's a great feeling.
I don't really know. Right now I see making it in the music industry the same way I see winning the lottery. It would be cool if it was more like getting a job in other fields, you just submit a bunch of applications and if you do well you're in. Is that how jobs work? Man, I really hope the music thing works out.
As of writing this, I just joined. So not much yet.
People who believe musicians are lazier than the average person. I practice for hours every day, and it's not always fun. It takes work.
Not as much as I want to, but I'm improving. I've started going to local open mics. I'd like to find out more about local bands, though.
I don't know, but if you do can you let me know?
Icon for Hire (but not their new album, the self titled one was the best) Alt-j? I guess their kind of popular though. I don't know as many small bands as I should.
