Seven Below Zero

Story

Jason Roberts, born in 1970 Sussex England he is the man behind Seven Below Zero. At an early age Jason took an interest in art both drawings and paintings, his influence being his mother. Also he started to take an interested in music mainly electronic music. Not being a great performer at school leaving at just sixteen years old. Jason sort out work with various temporary agency and found work. Not being content with everyday life in Sussex Jason joined the British Army at the age of seventeen and commenced his training later that year. Jason was one of the eighteen recruits out of seventy six that finished the training course. In 2002 he found himself taking a boat across the channel and headed toward France. To this day he is still there. Jason started to write poetry and was published in the UK and over time his love of music inspired him to try making music himself. The progression from art, poems to music just seemed natural. . His style is a mix of cinematic, ambient soundscapes and random synthesizers. Granular synthesis and granular drums wrap up his work.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music to me iis a way to get lost from the everyday grind. Music producing means a lot to me and having people listen to my work is just great

What inspires you to make music?

Lots of things really, the weather, life and hearing other great tracks from bands

What is the message you want to send with your music?

A message that would be "wake up and start looking after the world we live in"

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I am studio based

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

For musicians well it just seems to be payout and payout more. Too many sites and businesses out there promising a lot and delivering nothing

What do you think of Drooble?

Drooble is a cool place with great musicians just a nice community

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Having to spend too much time social networking

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Yes I go to gigs and promote them via various social media platforms

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Guts in one word never give up keep pushing you will win eventually
