Hello from Athens. My name is Savvas Malliaros, and I am the one and only member of Project Sol, a music project which was created in 2016. From an early age, I liked watching classical pianists on the television and I would dream of getting my hands on the black and white keys. Fortunately, my grandfather had an old electric organ and one day I tried to touch the keys. From that day I fell in love with the music, the notes and everything. Whenever we visited my grandfather's house I would acoustically play the organ. But the next step was made when I was at the age of eighteen. Having moved to Athens to study at the University, I managed to buy my first keyboard. Young and self-taught, I began to write my own songs, both lyrically and musically. My friends pushed me forward: "Why don't you publish your music online?" At first I felt a little timid, but eventually I created my first page on Bancamp called "Solus". After the first album, my keyboards remained silent for a whole year. I couldn't seem to write more songs. Then appeared the girl of my dreams. Elise pushed me forward to re-open my Bandcamp site. This time with a new name: Project Sol. I was inspired again from the start to write new and more complicated music, like "Andromeda". And now here I am, after months presenting you my newest attempt: "Sinking". I am more than happy because of all of you who support me. So thank you from the bottom of my heart. Keep listening and be safe cause there's more to come. The story continues Keyboardist of Treeπ into the Void, also preparing my own project.
Music is a form of life in many ways. It grows, it expands, it breathes. It gives strength to continue over the many struggles of life.
To become a good musician and to share my music with people all over the world, to express perfectly who I am through it.
I would certainly start from world hunger. It is unfathomable how many people starve every day all around the world.
I don't have a particular song. My family used to listen to greek folk music and some great composers from Greece like Mikis Theodorakis. I also liked greek rock music before my teenage years.
My favourite band is Pink Floyd. After I discovered them my whole life was changed. My whole musical thought was reshaped from the beginning. Other bands I like are Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler, The Scorpions -in particular their old ones most-, Steven Wilson and metal bands like Dream Theater, Ayreon and The Ocean. As you can see I love progressive music!
Everything! From weather to personal relationships, from music to poetry.
That some things are not what they seem to be, that there is a deeper meaning in everything life has to offer.
I don't know because I have never perfomed, but when I sing my songs to my family or my girlfriend I become anxious!
The reality is that if you don't play mainstream music you will probably remain in the shadows. Also, music industry has become more of a money hunter, without rising the quality of music, either if we speak about lyrics or melodies. A change is necessary if we want to push music even further. There are talents everywhere that need to be shown.
Drooble is a great way to help musicians and fans socialise, share their work and get feedback. Besides that, I am waiting to discover what else it has to offer!
It is difficult to say what doesn't. From the quality of my performance to the fact that there are less and less chances of becoming a well known musician. But as a matter of fact there is a truth that eclipses all the other things. Music is my life!
I don't have much interest for the local scene because I don't like the "poppish" music that nowadays is well-known in my country, though there are some really good artists and bands ready to be found.
I am trying to find out these qualities day after day, because I don't know yet!
"Goodbye, Titan", "Oceanai", "Elskavon" are some of the bands and artists I trully hope to explore and share with you!
