Story

Singing has been my passion since I was 6. Sadly, insecurities and stage fright kept me from pursuing my dreams for most of my life. NOT ANYMORE! I have a passion that burns bright and nothing is more tragic than letting the song inside you die. I refuse! I’ve been writing since I was about 13 and singing since elementary school. I started getting more serious the past few years. I decided to be brave and chase my dreams!

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is a way to release all my emotions at one time. To dig deep and truly feel and let go at the same time. I feel powerful and at peace when I’m singing. I love writing songs and want people to relate and enjoy my words. I want to a shared connection through this amazing gift. Music is truly healing. It’s my favorite things. It is apart of who I am. A piece of my soul.

What is your music dream?

I want the world to hear my words. I want to be brave and vulnerable enough to share pieces of me with others. To shed my light and my life and to bond with other people through shared passion. I want to play festivals and shows. I want my music to be felt and enjoyed.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

Corporate greed and their lack of empathy. I would bring the back the basics of helping one another and truly being a tribe/team. To love one another and help each other succeed.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Dreams by Fleetwood Mac I always loved singing it in car rides with my dad. Also, wish you were here by Pink Floyd bc it reminds me of my uncle who passed. I also grew up in the 90’s so any kind of alternative from that genre.

Fleetwood Mac, Florence Welch, First Aid Kit, Pink Floyd, Tash Sultana, LED Zepplin, Etta James, Leon Bridges, Sublime, Bob Marley,

What inspires you to make music?

Something inside me. Sometimes it’s my own life that gives me inspiration to write. Sometimes it’s other people’s lives that inspire a song. Honestly, it’s my need to connect that truly inspires me to make music.

I want to be a light. I want my music to be raw and real. I want it to be relatable. I want people to see hope through the pain.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I’m still overcoming stage fright. So mostly terrified, but empowered at the same time. When I finish a song and people are clapping it’s a joyous feeling I’ve never felt.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

It’s all about money now and branding. I love underground artists who actually have something to say and truly own their talents.

What do you think of Drooble?

Idk yet, but seems like a cool and useful app

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Myself and the need to be perfect. I’m learning how to play my dulcimer and I get caught in my own head about it.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Yes! I always watch local shows and buy things to support them :)

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Drive, ambition, and a rawness about them.
