Sam P Christian Hip Hop

Story

Samuel Arthur Pierce, also known as (Sam P.), was born January 23rd 1983 in Raleigh North Carolina. He was raised in Wendell until he was 8 years old and moved to Middlesex North Carolina. Sam started his journey as a christian hip-hop/rap recording artist and producer in 2015. Sam was never really aware of the genre until a friend exposed him to C-Lite (Now Andy Mineo) music video called "God Belongs in My City". Sam has always loved music but when he heard the call of God in this area he knew that it had to be more than making hit singles and dope rhymes and beats as his purpose. It is to minister the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ in hope that the world make receive the truth and live a committed lifestyle. He, his mother and sister moved to Middlesex, North Carolina to live with his Grandmother Sarah Blount and her husband James after the passing of his father in 1991 and loss of their home due to a fire. Six months later his mother bought a double wide home where the lived within walking distance of his grandparents home. It was very mentally challenging for Sam as a young man. Because he was very close to his father, the lost made him very angry as he constantly stayed in fights and suspended from school. Sam then started to write music about life getting his influences from Nas, Notorious B.I.G, Keith Murray, Mos Def, and Wu-Tang Clan etc. At the age of 9, Sam’s first song was about women, drugs, and money as he thought that was what made a successful life growing up in the influence of the hip-hop culture. Sam’s Mother Cheryl, was a God fearing woman who always made the effort to share the love of Jesus with Sam, even when he rejected it. Both his Mother and Father were followers of Christ and made sure that he was bought up in a Christ-Like environment yet he was drawn to the environment of drug dealers alcoholics, and gang members when he was away from his mother and participated in smoking weed and drinking excessively. In 2005 he gave his life to Christ but went to college and started having pre-marital sex and did not stay faithful. In 2007 he met a group of young men who sincerely loved Jesus Christ in a small group called YTC (Youth Taking Charge). After confessing his negative behavior while he was in YTC, Sam rededicated his life to Jesus Christ and started to hang out with the young men consistently and slowly let go of his old habits. Sam has been diagnosed with since he was 8 years old epilepsy yet he does not allow this to discourage nor distract him as he constantly claims and believes that Jesus has healed him because of the word of God. Although he has recently had violent episodes of seizures in 2012 and 2015 he still produces and performs music with no defects. “Part of my testimony of God’s unfailing love for me personally is that I can walk, talk, and function normally because as many seizures as I have had, I should be in a wheel chair” Sam says. He continues to write and produce in hope to reach others who have lost hope on life and given up their goals. In 2015 Sam launched his own independent record label “Renew Your Mind Records” that is based off the scripture he lives by daily Romans 12:2 stating “Be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind. Urban Gospel artist Ernest Musik and Christian Rap artist C-Dubb accompany him on the label. Up under the label he released his first single “Renewed” off his debut album “Renewed” he released November 23rd 2015. Sam took what the Lord gave him and produced, wrote, and engineered his first album with a computer mic and a free digital audio workstation app. Since then he has been blessed with quality equipment and connections to help produce his second album to be released December 16th 2016 “Be Still”. The first single off this album “Chill” features Christian singer and songwriter Alyssa Wade and Christian Rap artist/CEO Doctrinn from Final Reflect Entertainment got over 71,000 plays on SoundCloud and has worked with artist and producers like Kayo Bracey, The One Keon, & Sheleta Mason. He recently released his 1st mixtape “Plugin 2 Jesus Vol. 1" in 2017 as a free download on as its purpose is to reach the younger generation to show them the love of Jesus and enjoying life without drinking, smoking or having sex outside of marriage. Outside of music Sam resides as a family man with his beautiful wife Airreia and daughter Samaria. They are the owners of Sonshine Embrace Learning Center Incorporated where they help youth and young adults achieve their maximum potential through education and creative arts. They attend Evangel Fellowship Church in Greensboro North Carolina where they are submitted under the leadership of Pastor Otis Lockett Jr. Sam enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching good movies, basketball, and playing video games.
