RUBEN CALEGARI Drummer He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He performed with prestigious artists from Argentina and other countries, among which we can mention JAIRO, LUIS SALINAS, CECILIA MILONE , JUAN DARTHES, JULIA ZENKO, CESAR ISELLA, CHANY SUAREZ, JULIO LACARRA, ANGELA IRENE, JORGE DALTO (George Benson´s pianist) PIRAMIDE, JUAN BARRUECO, MANOLO JUAREZ. As sessionist he played with EMANUELLE, ¨EL PUMA¨ RODRIGUEZ, CHRISTIAN CASTRO, CHARLY GARCIA, DIEGO TORRES, FERNANDO OTERO´s tango sextet among others. He plays Rock, Pop, Funk, Jazz, Fusion and Tango y Folklore Argentino Since 1987 he is a member of the band of CESAR BANANA PUEYRREDON, a very well known Argentine pop artist, with whom he has recorded 15 CDs and is usually on tour in Argentina and other Latin American countries. He is also the drummer of CHICO NOVARRO one of the most songs writer from Latino America. He recorded for many TV and radio programs such as Badía y Compañía, FM Rivadavia and others. During the last years he has been devoted to the development of tango and Argentine folk music on drums. His video-clinic TANGO Y FOLKLORE DE LOS ´90 is the only Argentine work of this kind and has become consultation material for foreign musicians interested in this subject, like Alex Acuna, Jack De Johnette (Keith Jarret´s drummer), among others. He is a member of the Cultural Department of the ARGENTINE DRUMMERS CLUB, since its foundation. From 1985 he teaches drum playing, gives workshops and clinics all over the country. Since 1996 he is a Pro-mark artist, and has been granted the representation of Pro-Mark products in Argentina. Also Rubén is endorser in Argentina of Ddrum. In 1998 he founded the jazz quartet OUTSIDERS, together with Roxana Amed (vocals), Javier Lozano (piano) and Fernando Galimani (bass). Since 2002 he is part of the trio OLIVERA – RABITO – CALEGARI, who is introducing its first CD which combines jazz with tango, Argentine folk and Latin-American music. And he is part of PAGÜER TRÏO, plays latin Jazz fusion , whith Pablo Gimenez (bass) and Daniel Garcia (piano and keyboards).
