Story

As I teenager, I started getting quite jealous of guys who would get all the girls by playing a little keyboard riff from a chart hit, whilst I'd be practising Beethoven an hour each evening! I'm a Grade VIII classical pianist and lover of almost all types of music. I sing in tune with a sweet but fairly soft voice. I'm not a professional musician but song-writing is the thing in my life that makes me most proud. I sing Tenor 2 in a local choir I always wanted to be a composer. I loved the great classical writers but also great song writers. At the time, the Gibbs were taking a break from the Bee Gees and were having success writing for other artists. I would always tell people that it was the song more than the performer that counted. That's when I started writing. I can't walk 200 metres without a tune coming into my head. I love writing and I'm pleased to say that people like my output. I like originality. I like music that gets right into my senses. I find it strange that there are people out there who CAN'T write! What I find more of a challenge is the recording and mixing process. I want to get my stuff sounding as good on an MP3 as it does in my head! It rarely does :-( I mainly write piano ballads but I like to be a bit more varied so I also include some upbeat stuff in my repertoire. Occasionally, I do solo performances in front of

It's the art form that I relate to the most. I moves me. I turns me on. It also angers and frustrates me.

What is your music dream?

To have a song of mine recorded by an artist I admire.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

I would give also those who need it an extra dose of humility.

Being upset by something. Just waking up feeling creative.

I'm a sensitive soul. Be nice to me and like me.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

Like I could reach the moon. There's nothing like having an audience like putty in my hand, hanging onto every note I play and word I sing.

What do you think of Drooble?

Interesting idea. I like the fact that it doesn't seem to be a medium where the it's about spending loads of money to buy success. I hope it stays like that.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Recording my songs and them not sounding as good on disk as they did in my head.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Not currently but I know I should. I will when time allows!
