Robert Philipp

Past To Present

I've been making music for a long time. The story is a fat book. The condensed version is that I'm still making music.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is another side of the universe that travels and hits some antennas along the way. It allows me to travel through time while remaining where I stand.

What is your music dream?

To keep making it.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Help! The Beatles.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Too many to mention.

What inspires you to make music?

This life.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

We're all here right now. Let's make the best of it.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

Happily nervous.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

What do you think of Drooble?

Probably a great idea.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

The commercial system and the lack of funds for people like me.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

I listen if I like it.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

They should be able to play "live".

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

Linda Raine, Little Sunday, Kim Doolittle, Cynthia Knight, Indiana Gregg, Uno, Suzanne De Bussac, Whitewater Band, Apryll Aileen, Lost Ledge, Ken Morrison and Carlo Coppola. That's about it for now.
