Richard Groce aka Big Daddy Ricc

Big Daddy Ricc and PluBella Studios

I've been blessed to tour/travel with some great and talented people over the years opening for some famous artist along the way. I've gotten to see and do a lot in this time. I've recorded in several studios over the years with a few bands and have gotten radio airplay and have gotten songs played around the world over the years and I've appreciated that very much. Now, I spend most of my time operating my own recording facility and writing and recording my own music along with recording drum tracks for others. I enjoy what I do along with meeting new people and working along with them on their own projects. As Joe Walsh sang, "Life's Been Good" I hope you keep doing your thang and making your gift happen and never give up! Looking to collaborate if anyone is interested. Contact me via message here on Drooble and let's talk. I can share files through Dropbox and Google Drive. I record ALL drum tracks Dry. All I need from you is a WAV. file mixed good sent to me with the BPM so I can upload into my DAW and your notes of what you need/want. Communication is the key! So, if I can help you, I will. Happiness & Peace!

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music to me is what the inner core of ourselves expresses, the heart and mind combined. It gives me joy and satisfaction as love gives the heart.

What is your music dream?

My dream has always been to "make it" in music. I've come close and if what I'm doing is as close as I'll come, then what I have done has not been a let down in any way! I've been very blessed and happy with all that I have done in music and I'm still doing what I love to do.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

World Peace and teach everyone music and the value of music!

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

I'm not even sure if I remember since there were so many that were great from that time period....

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Some of my favorite range from RUSH, Journey, Elvis, Willie Nelson, BTBAM (To whom I know), Eric Gales (To whom I know), Heart, Foo Fighters, Kansas, Tears for Fears, The Dave Matthews Band, Korn, The Cars, The Police, Winger, Dokken, Sade', Adele, Abba and so many others from all genres!

What inspires you to make music?

It could be a simple thought or something I've seen or words that a friend has said in conversation. I enjoy writing and if I could just put to paper and into my DAW what I hear inside of my head I would be happy! The joy of creating!

What is the message you want to send with your music?

There isn't always a message...but if so, just have a good time and always do what you can!

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

In my years of stage, I had fun and I liked to entertain and the energy that was upon the stage. That was indeed the most greatest thing to feel ever! The feedback from the crowds and the participation! Best thing in the world when on stage!

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

Most of them just stand there on stage...no life. If I pay to see a show, I expect a show! I can always stay at home and listen to your CD or whatever. It also seems that a lot of Pop bands and musicians worry more on their looks than they do their music. The music is so over produced in some instances and the lip synching is more done now than ever. I'd rather see a real show than all of the "glamour"!

What do you think of Drooble?

Just found out about it yesterday, Thursday June 21, 2018. Love it!

What frustrates you most as a musician?

The price of a lot of things that could be more price friendly since I know it doesn't cost so much to produce. This is the one thing that truly takes the love of making music away from so many people!

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

I do...by attending shows when able and purchasing their music when I can.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Good clean recordings with good equipment and join and post their music to sites without getting taken advantage of by these sites and not lose their money from their hard work on their music! Too many musicians/artist are losing out on their craft by greedy site owned people. This is why I like Drooble so much! We can come on here and post our music without the hassles of worry!

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

Ryan Reedy, Brandon Carroway, Joe Davis Band, Andy Satori, Brian "Hellstorm"Williams of October 31, Dustie Waring of Between the Buried and Me
