REAPER7MAN was born Ryan Lee McDaniel on November 06, 1993, in Franklin, TN to mother Tina McDaniel and father Jeffrey McDaniel. Ryan McDaniel had started producing his own music at the young age of 14 recording in his childhood bedroom and had gone by the name “Kiddo”. At the time, music was a hobby that came alongside skateboarding. Lyrics that were wrote down were lost and recording music slowed down and he began singing only with a guitar. Setting music aside for a few years to focus on having a family and doing some odd end jobs, from laying carpet to gas station jobs, to factory jobs, life became more average. Ryan had not enjoyed having an everyday job. After the birth of his second child, he decided to officially dedicate himself back into music and began coming out by the name “Reaperman” he then later altered the name by adding a 7 creating the name REAPER7MAN. The purpose of the 7 being a representive of a scythe. McDaniel was originally inspired by Rob Zombie, Korn, Lil Wayne, Three6Mafia, Guns and Roses, Metallica, Deftones, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, Eminem, Young Jeezy, and Gorilla Zoe. When it came to his own style of music, his music has begun evolving from an experimental feel to a darker rock, rap and gangster rap vibe.
Music to me is the blood that runs in my veins. It's a universal language that breaks boundaries and communicates emotions that words can't. As an upcoming artist, it's both my platform and my outlet which allows me to express my deepest thoughts and connect with listeners/fans on a more intense level. Music gives me purpose and a voice in a noisy world. It offers completeness not only to me, but to others too. Music is a canvas that I can paint a picture with my words. It's not only what I do, it's who I am.
A sold out show hearing the whole crowd singing my song.
The world is a beautiful place, I wouldn't want to change it at all. But I'd want the people to be inspired more by love and allow it to be more peaceful.
Get Low by Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz What a great era.
Korn, Slipknot, Lil Wayne, Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Avenged Sevenfold.
It's my outlet to step into a version of me that allows me to prove myself to myself of who I truly am and want to become.
REAPER7MAN HOE REAPER7MAN BITCH
Like snorting cocaine if I had to guess what that was like.
The reality of now-a-days musicians is numbers and marketing. If we could improve music, we would eliminate monthly listeners stats on spotify, like buttons on social media. We would eliminate the metrics to allow good music to flourish naturally rather than the algorithm showing just the popularity.
I feel like I've been on a major interview, so definitely the most in depth. I like it.
Rather than musicians coming together to support each other and create communities so we can grow together as musicians, everyone looks at each other as competition.
I do support in the music itself, but I would just like to influence the lesser side of Nashville. We are not just all country, cowboy hats, and boots. There's another side to Nashville that hasn't been spoken of yet and I would like to be that voice.
The best marketer wins. It's almost like who's the popular kid in class? Social status means everything now.
