Rawan Roshni

Story

Rawan always loved to sing and play music and dance! In 2012 she performed at an open mic in Amman, Jordan that paved the way for her career in performance. She has since sang in a Reggae Band, a Funk Band and co-founded SemaZen: An Interactive World Music Band which has recorded an album, released an original song with a music video, and performed in international music festivals as well as all over Jordan. In addition, she has undertaken training in Sound Healing and guides SoundWork Sessions as part of her facilitation work with groups, as well as training as a Teacher in Whirling Dance which she gives Wonders of Whirling workshops in now too. She is currently also working on her original productions in an electronic world fusion collaborative - first release coming soon!

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is the sound of existence, of emotion, its a mode of story telling, its the healer. It gives me a way to express myself and to connect to others, it gives me rhythm to move my body and release my soul into expansion. Music is the lover and the mother, the root and the fruit <3

What is your music dream?

To be travelling the world spreading my sound through song and also sound healing modalities. To have my voice reach the edges of the earth and touch peoples' hearts and move their minds.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

Injustice, Sexism, Racism, Classism, Homophobia - Anything that creates separation and hatred.
