Leicester-based four-piece AVNT GARDS combine the ethereal with the punchy, taking you from spirited highs to soulful lows. With influences from Stevie Wonder to Radiohead, AVNT GARDS are guaranteed to rekindle your lust for spine-tingling rhythms and enigmatic melodies. With deep roots in the Midlands, their soul-shaking tones capture both the subtle ennui and innate, unearthed, raw emotion of the region. The band simmer with drive and a tenacious approach to their art. Their live performances are a juxtaposition of retro riffs and mellifluous modern melodies, married together for a true musical spectacle. With several radio features since their inception in Summer 2018 on both BBC Introducing and commercial radio, AVNT GARDS are trending upwards. Their supporters include the likes of Born Music and Dean Jackson. The release of their debut EP, 'I Didn't Branch Out Into Horror Until Much Later On' in February 2019 marks the culmination of their first few months on the scene with a grand statement. The EP's lead single Daydream premiered on BBC Introducing in the East Midlands drawing comparrisons with early Blur material. Defying any sub-genre box, AVNT GARDS continue to innovate lurching bravely from indie & rock staples into experimental alternative compositions and post-Brit Pop crowd pleasers.
