What is music to you? What does it give you?

Kinda kohrny question but ok, it’s mostly another creative outlet. Something I’ve always loved and wanted to do. I think most feel this way about it. I took a risk and have had the time of my life. Should’ve done it sooner. Don’t make any money but it sure I’d fun and the people are so cool.

What is your music dream?

No dream, just keep doing it. Have fun, even when it isn’t.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

Uniting people and their differences. We’re more alike than not. We concentrate on the differences too much. We should just be nice to each other,

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

I’m still a child, even at 62 so there’s a bunch.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

A bunch. Calamity Cubes, Joseph Huber, Goddamn Gallows, Sarah Shook , Nikki Lane, Rosie Flores, Sonia Dada, Southside Johnny , Ol 97’s, Pinata Protest, Hooten Hollars, Dale Watson, Desmadre, and on and on and on...

What inspires you to make music?

Self expression, I also do art so this is just an extension of the process.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

No message. I do it for myself. If people like it then that’s the icing on the cake.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

Sometimes it’s the best and other times I’m watching the clock. Depends on audience participation. If they just sit and stare at you it’s no fun. I want em all on stage, a part of the show. Break that silly wall down.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

Getting paid and public support. People don’t go to shows enough.

What do you think of Drooble?

It’s brand new to me but I think I’m going to like it here. I’m not sure what it’s supposed to do yet.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

People not coming to shows and shady venues and promoters. No one pays for music these days.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

My band supports touring bands coming through a lot. I also go out to shows and band are always welcome to stay at my house. Just don’t be a dick.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

I don’t know that answer. It’s the 64,000 dollar question isn’t it. If we knew we’d all be rich.
