Story

Pordalab is Filipino slang of ‘for the love’. They sing to inspire people to love more and care more for others. They sing to encourage people to stand-up for what is right and for advancing real change for the good of the many. As Pordalab’s byline goes: awiting puso, awiting bayan. The artistic collaboration of the band members go as far as 2010. They launched their debut album Puso at Bayan last November 2016, with songs mostly written by Pordalab’s songwriter, music director and producer Karl Ramirez. Pordalab is self-managed. Artist management and bookings are handled by Jaime Hernandez joined by Tetang Dollaga and Marion Ramirez. Karl Ramirez He is a singer-composer, arranger, and music producer. He wrote most of the songs that Pordalab performs and arranges the band's music repertoire and recordings. He writes music for documentaries, film, and TV. Boogs Villareal She hails from Pampanga, and besides being a singer and musician, she is a visual artist, an actress for indie films and music videos, and a development worker for the organization Alay Bayan-Luson, Inc. Aside from the xylophone, the ukelele is one of her most used instruments. Jomar Mangulabnan Pordalab’s guitarist is from Bulacan and currently works with sound technicals for a company in Metro Manila. Jojo originally is also guitarist of the rap-metal alternative band Gazera. Kyle De Leon Pordalab’s bassist is a multi-instrumentalist and experienced session performer for various performing groups rendering popular tunes. Pedro Magat Pedro is Pordalab’s percussion man from Pampanga. From rock drums to electronic pads, to bongos, shakers, and djembes, Pedro has been spicing the musical act with his unique and fiery beats. He is originally a band member of Los Indios Bravos, Ciudad Tribo, and Atthismo. Pordalab’s past members include Choi Carretero and Jason Legaspi.
