Though I'm writing Pop Music (trying to come at it from an original POV) my heart is strong in Rock and Metal since those are my root genre's but I enjoy music of all kinds and I want to put 100% into anything I make so enjoy
Music really is freedom when you think about it. At least, it is in this day in age. These days artists can write the way they feel. Sadly may Artist Labels don't allow too much of that freedom (especially when the music doesn't belong to the singer i.e Ariana Grande) so to write completely from a bedroom pop perspective is especially freeing.
To create music for as long as I possibly can and inspire those around me in the process
Everyone recognizing exactly where they come from, how to live right and to have the same hope as I do towards a better world soon to come.
I remember hearing artists like Bush and The Clash and that got me into Rock music but then I grew into other genres since then.
Way to many to name but as of right now, I'm inspired by cool artists like Christina Grimmie, IU, Taeyon, and many Electronic Artists out there.
Perhaps are hardship I'm facing, or I just hear a cool song and then I get in the mode to create.
Positivity, Love, Encouragement, Imagination
A little nervous as most are but glad I'm doing it because there's nothing freeing like showcasing your art to interested ones in a live environment.
I think we live in a very "message" prominent world where the focus on what's trending and what shouldn't be trending including political involvement tend to wreck everything. I feel there's enough jacked up things in the world, we don't need to jack up our music that way too.
I love how different it is with how we share and communicate with other artists. It's definitely a place where people are sincerely uploading and sharing hoping to get feedback by other artists and that's really what we need before it can translate into the fanbase.
How "sexualized" music has gotten. I think it's just so overdone and unnecessary, there are other things to write about and honestly I feel like the labels plan this particular content because they're following trend and that trend in turn sends a very obscene message that has a very-brainwashing aspect to it and again as I've said before, there's enough jacked up things in this world...we don't need to jack up our music that way too.
I prefer to find musicians who are like me, just trying to write and share and develop a fan base. So, yeah.
There's so many avenues and what works for one person may not work for another so, different strokes for different folks. I've posted on SoundCloud, I didn't get anymore, I've posted on Reverbnation (no one's really there), I've posted on Bandcamp...you don't really get the back and forth support like you do here. I think you need to worry less about getting likes and subs on YouTube and focus more on the pulse of the collective...sharing with other artists and building an artist community first and then reach for fans.
Firstly, even though I'm posting Pop/Electronic music, I have a strong background in Rock and Metal and there's this feeling back then you got when you wore your favorite band tshirt and went to local shows that you can't get today in such a digitalized environment where Pop has created all these different "niches" that often get massively politicized...so some local bands I have share are Polarity, Kozen, Red Handed Denial. Kozen as especially great because of just how much they've influenced me as a creator. If you listen to Kozen's song To The Wind and you'll get where I'm coming from as an artist.
