What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is my getaway. It's where I can express all my feelings and emotions. That's one of the reasons of the Blue Kiwi project. A way to feel just by listening to music.

What is your music dream?

If people listen to my music and they can in someway relate my music with some life event, a moment a feeling or emotion in their life, my dream is achieved. It's amazing just to imagine that something you created can be part of someone else's life!

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

I think music is the ultimate language that anyone can relates to. Anyone understands music, because music is about feeling. And feeling is what makes human beings. So I would start by putting more music in people's lives. Music that people can relate to, that tells them something special. The world would be definitely better if we had more music in our lives!

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

I have several childhood memories when it comes to music. My father, which was a clerk, had a strong passion for music. And he learned music theory and to play an instrument when he was in his 40s. So my memories of music are the songs that he was learning to play in the piano.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

I must say that I prefer to relate to music and songs than to artists or bands. What I mean is when I love a music or song I'm not really concerned who made it or who is performing. Because when you stick to artists or bands you might loose contact with so many great things that almost anonymous people are doing ou there. Having said this. I love music and I think that there are wonderful artists, musicians and bands in all genres. From Pink Floyd to Rolling Stones. From Vangelis to Sting... I like to listen to a lot of people.

What inspires you to make music?

It depends. Sometimes it's a feeling, a past experience that is deeply engraved in my mind. Sometimes it's something that someone I know is going thru. Other times it's a sound, something I saw, a phrase, or even a simple word... Inspiration is out there in many forms. You just have to be open to it.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

Most of all, I would like people to relate music with their feelings, their life events. there is always ups and downs in life, and for every moment there is a music to help us reach what we want. So I think the message is, music is always there for you. Music will never let you down.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

It's hard to explain, to put in words. It's a wonderful feeling when you see that people are happy, enjoying. It's a life event, a positive one! And you are being part of those people's lives. They let you be part of that joyfulness. It's so rewarding!

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

It's hard to be a musician. Well, it's hard to be an artist whatever the art you are doing. If get lucky and go into the mainstream, the "machine" will do part of the work. I'm not saying that big well known artists are not good. Quite the opposite. I'm saying that there are a lot of very good people that simply don't have the chance to show to the world the very good stuff they are doing.

What do you think of Drooble?

I'm a new arriver! So I'm just getting to know it. But for what I can tell, it's a good platform for helping the almost anonymous artist, musicians and bands to get their chance to be heard and to reach people.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Composers' block! Well, in fact, composers' block is part of the process... so just kidding. I do not get frustrated really. There are a few things in music that may be harder and difficult to get done, but they are just obstacles that you must go through. It's part of the process and makes it more sweeter at the end.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Yes, in my own way. I help a local music school whenever I can. They are doing a Wonderfull job at teaching music to children. Also, I like to see other musicians and bands shows. One of the best way to help artists and to recognize their work is to show up.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

That's a hard one. Because in order to achieve that goal, most of the things are not in the hands of musicians. Having said that, I think it all comes down to the basic: do what you love, and do it right. Others will follow. So, do great music, music that you feel proud of, that you enjoy.

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

I'm from Portugal, a small country in the western coast of Europe. So, I don't know if you ever heard of them, but they are very popular in Portugal. I'm talking about a band called "Amor Electro" (rough translation is Electro Love). I really enjoy their sound and musical textures. And they have a wonderfull vocalist.
