Paula Barouh

Historia

Paula Barouh, is a singer, songwritter, poet and and former media host from Chile. Her first music project was Barouh, a band-format project influenced by different genres of electronic music as well as rock and pop. Even though her work in media has been the focus of attention in her early years. with the TV show "Cortentrámite" and as host and producer of several radio shows, and the creation of the first "female in music" website in Chile (El no de las niñas/girls say no!), her music work gave important steps on 2007. That year, with a song entitled “Convulsion”and made an elaborated promo video rotating regularly on MTV Latin, she catch the attention of chilean media, establishing her name as a strong local performer. Convulsion also was included in the compilation album Dark People Volume I, edited by the chilean label Feria Music. This album included also tracks from the Germans Die Krupps and several artists from the international scene of industrial/EBM music. In 2008 this track was also included in the compilation album Till Dawn do us edited in Belgium. In 2010 Barouh was chosen by the dutch band The Gathering to be the opening act on a massive benefit concert in Chile. The show took place in one of the most notorious chilean venues; Teatro Caupolicán. In 2011, Paula develop several voice workshops and was invited to join the academic program called Rock, Metal and Progressive Diploma, in the prestigious music school Projazz (Chile). In 2012 releases Barouh, her debut album, and got re-released on 2013 by the record label Orion Records. In 2015 realeases INEVITABLE EP, with 2 singles: Breathe and Sin Voz, defining her musical concept in the mix of electronic music and rock. During 2017 releases a Poetry/Music project called Descargo y Maleficio (Curse and discharged) where she shows for the first time spoken word material, she´s been writtring for the past 10 years and music tracks made specially for each poem. Also during 2017, releases LANDSCAPES, an incidental music project based on electronic/instrumental tracks.
