Story

PaulOfCreation is the pseudonym of British producer Paul Farrell. Paul was privately educated in classical music; became Principal School Windband Saxophonist, he toured Europe performing at many music festivals. After graduation, he was hired by local recording studios as a session musician. Moving from England to Portugal in the late 90's, he performed at Expo '98 Lisbon with David Byrne of Talking Heads and fronted the after show party in front of 5,000 fans. This led to him becoming artist-in-residence playing Sax at multiple Lisbon nightclubs. He toured with Fashion Designer Fatima Lopes for 18 months and performed at Paris Fashion Week. In 2007 Paul moved to Upstate New York and established a home recording studio. By 2010 Paul attained the role of producer and began collaborating with local musicians. 2015 saw the release of his debut album midnight.

What inspires you to make music?

Life inspires me! Music is all around me and I love to share my emotions with others through music.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

Most of my music is about feeling good and partying . My ambient music is a lot more inward thinking.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

Super excited and nervous too.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

More networking and sharing of ideas.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

That I write music that does not get seen by most of the world.

I go to local gigs

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Be a marketing guru. It seems you have be good at hustling so much.
