Paul Grimwood

Story

I survived despite being given zero chance of doing so.I was later abandoned,by my mother and her partner at the time.I was then adopted by my grandparents. My real father, who I later got to know, would seem very mysterious. "There was a silver gate in the courtyard of the coal merchants house,a house that is no longer there". I write, record, and perform my own songs:My song "No Beauty Fading" reached the number spot on the pop charts at Audiocandy, beating into second place an ex- member of Fleetwood Mac!! On SoundClick, my song "Kingfishers Heartbeat" reached the number #3 spot(There were 0ver 72 thousand songs!) in the World Chart. The song also reached number #1 on SoundClick in their New Age chart! Over the years I haved had 21 number one hits, and 48 top twenty placings on various music sites. I also write short stories and mystery articles under my writing name of W.Raven.

Oh..well I have already lived most of my music dreams, but its good to dream of more!! I am older now,but I would say to younger musicians "Aim high,,work hard on writing the best songs you can and never give in"!!

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

I would start with a fairer distribution of wealth.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

Scared!!I always get nervous beforehand, but when I am out there..I love it!!

Well it IS different these days. When I was young there were no Multitrackers or internet, music studios were out of my price range. The only ways to be heard were playing live, radio or being signed to a record company and making a record. These days..so many ways to be heard and noticed. This is much better.

Breaking a guitar string just before a gig!!

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Well yes..I attend open Mics and see as many bands as I can.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Start by..joining as many music sites as you can.Upload just some of your songs on each one. Get yourself a website.WIX..is one where it is free.Join Linkedin also..you can promote your music from there .Make videos of your songs for YouTube. A still frame video will suffice.
