Papa Chicken

Story

Howdy ya'll - I grew up listening to Mowtown as a child, then turned to Rock & Roll in the 70's. I bought my first guitar when I was 17, bright-eyed & bushy-tailed. I hammered away on that 70 Hardtail Stratocaster every moment I could. I can still hear my parents stomping on the floor above me.. "turn that down!!" In the early 80's came to faith in Christ. I joined my first "real band" called Crucifix. A Christian Heavy Metal power trio. We played & toured together until about 1992 and have remained close friends throughout our lives. I spent a several years wandering and about 7 years ago (like the prodigal son) found my way back where I belong, in Christ. I've spent these last years reflecting on things and began writing again. I look forward to sharing my music and bringing encouragement to you through song. Oh BTW my first grandson coined the name Papa Chicken .. now all the grandchildren call me Papa Chicken... so that's how I got the name.

99% of us struggle to get through each day like everyone else; as we continually shape our musical ideas into songs. We all need a little help now and then. It would be nice to have a musical sanctuary where we can be ourselves without pretending.

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

The greatest unknown artist (that I've had the pleasure to share a friendship with for 35 years) is Scott Seymour. Amazingly talented guy who could play nearly any genera and nearly any instrument. - I miss him.
