Story

Born Sherika Harris in Kingston, Jamaica, May 13, 1984. Former student Ardenne High, Edna Manley College and the University Of Technology, Jamaica. Her early influence in music spans various genres and artist including classical music and rock. Nubian Red seeks to give rise to the new genre of music called JamRock which fuses the eclectic Jamaican sounds of Reggae and traditional Jamaican music with Rock and classical music. Nubian Red is a new Jamaican artist about to embark on her journey to inspire the people of the world with a spirit to think good, do good and be good. Nubian Red has great potential for success; the artist presents timeless music, the sound image of Afrocentricity in positivity, a philosophy and a creative difference.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is what wakes me up, it gives me a reason to believe.

To reach and touch the hearts of millions or billions and inspire people to be their better self.

Hearts and minds...it's the thing within human essence that can lead us to seek to do the good in everything.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Too many songs to chose just one.

I can't say I have a favorite, one music is inspired I love the music.

What inspires you to make music?

The elements in nature that establish that there is indeed a greater force, being or power that makes everything about life exists.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

A positive energy of love and enlightenment.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I feel at peace.
