I have been writing music since the age of 10 on a Casio keyboard (still have several now) before moving on to using an Amiga and now a PC far too full of VSTs and a studio far too full of Synths. All great fun though. I also remix, produce and write for other artist so send me a message if you would like me to collaborate.
My passion for music composition and listening is possibly my oldest memory. Escaping into sound and melody is one of life's great luxuries and mysteries. Time passes, imagery sparks, peace arrives. Perfect.
My music strives to be sonically beautiful and clear whilst the melodies and harmony take the listener on an emotional journey. Inventive creativity through sound and music.
Greed for money should be swapped for a desire for spiritual peace and equity. so everyone has the opportunity to be educated, be healthy, experience culture and feel at peace.
Equinox part 5 by Jean Michel Jarre blew me away at a very young age. Opening my mind to alien sounds and images. From there on the synthesizer has remained a huge influence on my excitement and enjoyment of music
Jarre, BT, Underworld, Radiohead, Holst, Zimmer, Yello, Depeche Mode, Martinez... I could keep going but I am sure we all could. There is so much inspirational music to discover.
A sound... a place... a film... an image... an idea or concept... chatting to collaborators. There is so much in the world that inspires.
Be unique, be creative, follow your musical path and open your mind to the possibilities of your and other's music.
To be honest, I prefer to listen but when I have performed I feel proud when my music is well received. That instant feedback is something very special - especially when other musicians are in the audience.
Far too much music to sort through and the wrong people get the money and rewards. Improve this by providing the artists with the majority of the revenue. If we were not here there would be no music industry! Oh... and people being hung up on genre - ditch that!
A very easy to use platform with plenty of opportunity to meet others and find new music. Reminds me of a very old platform at the start of social media way back in the early 2000s.
energy... lack of it! I need a certain spark that comes from within to really create and it is not always there. Forcing it works often but that spark is sometimes hard to light up!
Yes - I perform, have organised events and attend events as well as teaching at the local creative college and working with a local company that puts on larger shows. Plus I run a music group (not label) that is beginning to link up with local creatives.
They need to be positive, determined, hard working and use their time intelligently so they can be heard in a very busy market. Social media helps but so sadly does image and words. It isn't always the music that has the final say in success but it should!
Bispatial makes beautiful pop with soul in the UK. Onuka is an Epic Russion artist. Yello are legends but not many have heard their work. Digital Horizons makes dreamy electronica. Paul Keeley makes the vert best dance music - dreamy and energetic.
