Nicolas Delfosse

Story

I write simple, humble, usually a bit sweet and sour acoustic start ideas on an acoustic guitar, and these are the basis of a new musical challenge, namely to work out those song ideas with musicians & singers (m/f). These basic pilots, usually recorded in the living room, should actually be the basis for the most spontaneous but also unexpected musical encounters in this confusing and actually alienating digital social network era ... A kind of adventure in which you and you, singer(s), musician(s), lyricist(s) contributes to the building of a song, an atmosphere, a meeting too, and this in a fair and relaxed atmosphere of The Bearcave Studio here in Bruges ... or in your own homestudio, or here at home in the seat, or in the kitchen, or in yours ... There are really no limits to your possible contributions, musically, any requirement is that you enjoy it yourself, as well as that you really mean it ... In concrete terms, I see what follows, a permanent collaboration? A release? A concert? I really do not know ... Hopefully our musical encounter will yield something ... respect already. I am one and all open for any common contribution, throw it on, mail me ... [email protected] or visit my vi.be, or my soundcloud account to sniff the basic atmosphere of the start-ideas, every feedback is more than welcome. Hey ho, let's go ... Nicolas Seven Oaks was born out of a first musical collaboration during spring of 2014 between singersongwriter Berth Van Poucke (ex-11ty1) and guitarist Nicolas Delfosse (ao ex-Red Zebra, ex-Tearshell...) within the context of Project Nicolas & Friends. Mainly due to that magical musical firework between both of them they were soon teamed up by bassplayer Bart Parmentier (ao. Lemon, ex-Tearshell, Venus in Flames, Het Zesde Metaal...). For the moment the band is still working on some new compositions/recordings in the legendary Bear Cave studio (Bruges) and their main goal is to hit some smaller stages (living room concerts etc.) to first at all spread their musical wings in front of a more intimistic audience. Future collabs with other friends musicians will not be excluded, but for the moment focus is still mainly oriented to composing and arrangement of a decent full setlist! Seven Oaks delivers a collection of songs that are sometimes tender and sometimes intense, though always without pretention. They draw in audiences by using the power of universal themes like the quest for identity, human relationships, letting go, courage and acceptance. Seven Oaks now allows itself to be authentic and free. We are very proud to mention the fact that Seven Oaks won the Brugotta Awards 2017 for best and most promising band in the main theater of homecity Bruges and our next goal is the plan to release a 5-track mini album, due to be produced by young but very talented Pieterjan Seynaeve! More news about that very soon! More info wanted? Feel free to contact us by mail at [email protected] (Nicolas).
