Nick Norod

After goofing around with playing and guitar and singing for 40 years I finally graduated to performing occasionally. With the use of music book, since I got too old to remember the songs. Lol.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Sadly, at times music was the only thing that made life worth living.

What is your music dream?

It used to be to join a band and become world famous. Now I just want a low key gig close to home that ends early.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

I'd love to change the world but I don't know what to do. So I'll leave it up to you.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Honey by Bobby Goldsboro because it was the first song that made me cry.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Neil Young. The Beatles. Matthew Sweet. Most 70's rock.

What inspires you to make music?

Life and ego.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

Don't take life too seriously.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

Nervous. Elated. Fulfilled.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

It's really become bland and boring.

What do you think of Drooble?

Seems cool.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Feedback from the PA.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

I wish I could go out more.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

A degree in public relations and marketing.

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

The Barnyard Playboys were (?) a country punk band that was really funny. Nick Drake was a British singer songwriter in the early 70's.
