Hello! My name is Nathan, and I am the frontman of the New England Black/Funeral Doom Metal band, Great Cold Emptiness. I'm planning on making the solo project a full band, so I am always looking for people to write, record, rehearse and gig with! I'm 20 years old and I am a self taught musician.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music gives me a personal catharsis and escape from the degredation of the modern world. I am able to truly express my aesthetic and creative visions in a sonic soundscape

What is your music dream?

My musical dream is to become 100% satisfied with my musical output and to fully carve my niche into the music world.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

I would embrace the ideas of family, and bring a return to the values of hardwork, honor, heritage, self reliance and kinship

What inspires you to make music?

Nature, and the will to preserve and express it in a unique aesthetic

What is the message you want to send with your music?

That there is still a shimmer of hope left in the concrete prisons of the modern world, and that Nature should return to its place of worship

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I feel entranced, and almost dreamlike. It's ethereal, meditative, and enchanting

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

There is a fine line between musicians and entertainers, as with true art and pleasure. You will find art and truth today, obviously, but the difference is that musicians tocday have an identity crisis when it comes to creating actually compelling music whilst also retaining a sense of originality

What do you think of Drooble?

I think it is a wonderful site that has a lot of potential, and something I have been wanting for many years now

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Usually credit given to artists who slander others, or have not one ounce of artistry in their bones, as well as the fetishization of money and fame as a means to an end.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Yes, very much so. I am well acquanited with European music labels, and I support independent artists and their promoters

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Originality. Aesthetic. Meaning. Humbleness. Purpose.
