Bio

Composer and Musician in "Vassy Courtes" I play since 1980 starting with a band named "Crash" and eventually I became an studio session musician. I studied in "Conservatorio Nacional" in Mexico City and in 1996 rebuilded "Crash!" band with another two musicians. We also made a record label named VC Records in what we will try to support indie artists. The bands I have played in: Crash! (1980-1997) with some inactivity periods. What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is the most marvelous thing in the life. The music gave me, and still is giving me, the reasons to be.

What is your music dream?

Make music for everyone (even if it is only for those who like rock)

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

Being better person. You can only lead with the example.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

That's all right Mamma (Elvis)

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

The Who (my main after my own band, lol), Jimi Hendrix, Deep Purple, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Eagles, Carlos Santana, Danny Gatton, James Burton, Arlen Roth, Brian Setzer, Eric Burdon, The Animals, Janis Joplin... a lot more!!!!

What inspires you to make music?

To many things

What is the message you want to send with your music?

People to rediscover and love themselves.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

Espartacus!!!!! (confessing some scaring feeling in the beginning)

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

I´m not sure. Theres are a lot of technological advances but music today is mostly boring. I would try to make them to do things from their souls and feeling, not copying another ones.

What do you think of Drooble?

It is great!!!!

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Uh! also a lot of things!. Here in Mexico there is no truelly rock culture. The few good bands must to work in other things besides their playing.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Yes. I buy their records, assist, when I can, to their gigs and try to promote them.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Their way to play, performing in front the audience, their speaking there, their presence, vocal skills, a lot more....
