I write music that pleases me. The egocentric in me would love others to be pleased as well.
Mainly the means to express myself. As a songwriter I can put emotions and feelings into lyrics far better than I can put into everyday conversation.
Just to be able to do it full time. I’m not concerned with money or fame, but it is nice to not to have to worry about the bills.
The environment first and foremost. Secondly I would bring some kind of responsibility law against fake news in the largest reaching media outlets.
My mother had a Carpenters greatest hits album on repeat so I guess it’s one of those. I loved it.
I have guitarist influences like Page and Brian May and all of that usual crowd. As for bands I generally go for anything that’s a really good song, whatever the genre.
Again, being creative and self-expression.
Each song is a different message so I guess it depends who is listening to what.
Nervous and exhilarated
The internet has made so many more people able to get heard and I’ve discovered fantastic music I never would have had access to 15-20 years ago. However, the live scene is diminishing and we’ve totally lost true art from the mainstream.
I’m still finding my way around it but I think it’s great!
Not getting what’s in my head down on tape. Also my voice needs to improve but I’m working on that.
There isn’t much of a local scene. Maybe I could give it a kick in the balls.
Well I’m afraid it still comes down to marketing and luck...there are too many great musicians out there and not enough space for everyone. The lucky ones who break really big will always hit a nerve though.
