LuisFigueroa

Story

Luis Figueroa is a Philly native R&B artist whose music industry experience has ranged from singing shows to working with some of the best in the industry. Raised in a part of town that was sometimes dangerous, Luis’s mom worked to make sure he kept out of trouble by assuring that he and his siblings were always involved in extra curricular activities. Because of this, Luis gravitated toward music and being that he was raised in a Puerto Rican household, his idols included some of the greats in Latin music and culture such as Luis Miguel and Jerry Rivera. As Luis practiced singing more and more, he felt a fire from within him crave to be better, and after being featured on shows like Star Search and Sábado Gigante in his early years, he was given the confidence and experience needed to continue expanding as an artist. At the age of 16, Luis faced the greatest defeat in his career. After auditioning and making it through to the top 24 of American Idol, Luis was sent home, admitting that it was the most heartbreaking moment of his career.
Luis was far from ready to quit though. Soon after, he attended Berklee College of Music where he adopted the attitude of a perfectionist, realizing that he would never be finished learning and growing within his craft. At Berklee, Luis learned not only how to be a better artist, but how to appreciate music in a new way. Luis’ online following consists of over 30,000 followers across platforms and well above 4,000,000 views on YouTube. However, it was not until Luis’s cover of Luke James’ “I Want You”, that Luis scored big, landing a production deal with Nasri’s “The Messengers”. Currently, Luis is working on completing his very first EP, which is set to be out in 2015.
