Wonderlandsong

Story

I am a multi instrumentalist and I love to compose music. I've been playing instruments for over 20 years and I have participated in numerous presentations with bands and choirs in Brazil. Since then, music has been part of my life. I've been perfecting myself as a music producer and in my spare time I'm composing, writing arrangements and teaching music classes for enthusiasts. I seek collaborations for started and future projects.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music for me is an expression of the soul: the way to materialize feelings in audio. By making music I am manifesting a part of myself by transposing energy to the universe in vibrations that can touch other people. I feel free like this.

What is your music dream?

I hope that the music I participate in reaches the largest number of people and gives the opportunity to discover new talents.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

If I could change the world, something I would certainly change would be ideological conflicts, which in turn generate wars and destruction, in addition to other consequences such as hunger and misery for many people. The history of the world has already shown us that all wars and confrontations were never beneficial to any of the sides involved, always showing some kind of "side effect".

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Significantly many of which would not fit here which may vary in styles. The main ones could be: no grunge - nirvana, soundgarden, stone temple pilots, alice in chains; no hard rock - deep purple, heart, led zeppelin, back sabbath, rush, jimi hendrix, steve ray voughan; in Gothic metal - draconian, tristania, epic, coil gap; in pop/rock - ghost; etc. Are many. I hear a little of everything that I believe can contribute to the understanding of the art of music in terms of sound engineering and its origins.

What inspires you to make music?

Currently books, documentaries, artists. Themes vary by interest like the occult, everyday elements like love, anger, happiness, etc. Each one varies with the theme that could be proposed in an album or single. I usually first set a theme to base the atmosphere on how the songs on an album should sound.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

I work with several music projects. Wonderlandsong is where I gather different styles of music. Each project seeks to convey an identity related to a theme in question. In short, the messages that we seek to convey with the musical art of these elements are the awakening to another reality, a vision that perhaps starts to contribute to the enlightenment of being.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I feel like someone else.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

I believe that a lot has changed with technology, especially with the internet. Currently, to produce and distribute his art, the musician does not necessarily need to depend on a record label. What could be improved is very real. In my country, Brazil, I can say it better. There is no room for rock bands as there is for another musical style known as the 'sertanejo' - an adaptation of country. English language songs are not welcomed as a national highlight. The country's underground scene is small in my opinion. What could be improved in this den would be that more opportunities appear for rock bands in the region or services for this purpose.

What do you think of Drooble?

I wanted an experience first with a streaming site without spending on it. I found some, but they were free for a while and their resources, which would help in distributing your music, were paid. I looked for sites that would help me to concentrate in one place everything I needed like: merchandise, albums, singles, videos, fan community, etc. After trying out different services I found Drooble recently and honestly, it's been the best experience in terms of music services that the internet can offer.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Search and find collaborations for musical projects: many of them do not respond; some give up. And that forces the hiring of musicians. And the dissemination of projects with results, which demands time and content creation, which forces once again to hire marketing agencies. Currently I don't see music as a business, except that a certain project is gaining results which would force to include more investments.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

I teach music and participate in the arrangement of local events that contribute to culture.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

This question is also very relative. My qualification may not be the same for others and generalizing this condition may not help much. Good thing we have diversity. I believe that the musician who understands his audience well and loves what he does is better able to deliver his best.

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

I find it difficult for this to happen. I consider myself an artist because I compose music and music is art. It's possible that they've never heard about me or some of the projects I've been contributing to which will be on this page. Hammer Of The Gods was a well-known band in the São Paulo underground in Brazil when bands were still growing in number in the 90s.
