Kyle Jones Poirier

Story

From a small town in Northern NH, down a dirt road aside a mountain range I found my voice through music and the surrounding forests. With early training in music theory, the alto and the baritone saxophone I had the basis and inspiration to start writing my own songs. It began as poetry then turned into lyrics when I received my first guitar as a gift. Later my music became reflections of my own life experiences and dreams. I played guitar, wrote songs for and sung as the front man in several rock bands throughout high school, college and thereafter. Through my music I try to tap into something that resonates with us all. Sounds that are raw and stripped down placed aside powerful guitar riffs. With lyrics that remind us of who we were, who we are, and who we strive to be.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is my heart and my home. It's like a member of my family. It pushes and challenges me, loves me unconditionally, tells me when I need to change or improve. It gives me the voice and the words to say the things I don't know how to say. Music fulfills me when I feel empty or down and lifts me up. It helps me share who I am with the world and connect with the universe and with humanity.

What is your music dream?

My dream with music is to make it a career. To write, perform, record, produce and sell my songs. To publish music for commercial use as well as own a studio to record and produce other musicians and collaborate with them.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

I've always started with myself and my community, connecting with people. All big things start small.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Michael Jackson - Thriller, also Harry Chapin - Cat's in the Cradle.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Too many to list, but to name some of the most significant to me:
