A blend of two worlds: Born and raised in Montego Bay, Jamaica, Jones moved to Canada when he was just 11 years old . Born to many brothers and sisters, Jones was the only one chosen to try and better his life in Canada. After saving his Grandfather from a fire when he was just 3, his family knew that he was special and was destined for great things. Of course, leaving his family and life in Jamaica behind and moving to Canada alone was a difficult transition for Jones and he turned to music to cope. Jones began writing his own music when he was 10; before that, he was often found freestyling at his primary school in Jamaica. Jones suffered one of his greatest hardships in late 2005 when he learned that his closest brother in Jamaica was killed. Jones was unable to return home to grieve with his family and bled his pain into his music. “I spit from the heart plus I got two souls; he writes. In the same year, when Jones was just 17, he teamed up with kanadikan Records to start the group “BuildinBlox” in Vancouver where they performed shows and released mixtapes until the members of the group went separate ways in 2007. Jones continued on his own though, releasing his own mixtapes in 2011 and 2012 (Back in the Booth and What the City’s Missing, respectively). In 2013, Jones went back to Jamaica for the first time since he left when he was younger. Reunited with his family, Jones became further inspired with his music. His versatility heightened to include Rap, Hip Hop, Dancehall, and Island Style, each genre generating a positive vibe to his listeners, allowing them to relate to Jones’s struggles, visions and dreams from both worlds. Jones doesn’t stop with just music, however. In 2015 Jones started his own clothing line called “Headley Jones Apparel” which encompasses his love and pride of his roots and of his life now. Furthermore, he started “Loyal Soul Music Group,” his own label. While managing these projects, Jones has been releasing a lot of music as of late ( She Mi Like , Yawdie Anthem , Louie life , Suh Di Ting Set and Summer Time Vybz.
