Story

I channel my emotions through my singing and songwriting. I always try to be 100% authentic and honest in my music and as a person who smiles, cries, laughs, bleeds, and dreams like everyone else. I feel different. I've overcome many things in my life like being bullied in school, not feeling like I fit in and at times not having a friend. I've faced rejection and betrayal. I know the strength and courage it takes to live with Depression and Anxiety. Sometimes it feels like I feel too much and writing songs and singing give those feelings a place to go. I turn my feelings and experiences into art. I feel like an underdog and a voice for the voiceless. I think I can create something beautiful that I want to share. This is my passion and purpose. I hope I can reach the ones who need to hear what I have to say.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music gives me the freedom to create, express myself and tell my story. It's my therapy, my diary and my purpose. I hope to help others through my music.

What is your music dream?

My dream is to have my songs available, release albums, music videos and get as many people to hear it as possible by sharing it and touring. I would love to tour the world and share my music with people who need to hear it the most.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

Protecting children and animals from abuse and neglect is really important. Anyone who couldn't defend themselves, really. Kids grow up and become the future and then their kids are the future and so on. There has to be more love and acceptance in the world. Bullying, racism, sexism and homophobia need to end.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

That's a tough question... "I Just Wanna Live" by Good Charlotte really impacted me and I remember saving up my money to buy The Chronicles of Life and Death album. I became a big fan of them after that.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Bands: Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Used, Taking Back Sunday, Silverstein, Papa Roach, Nirvana, Hole, Good Charlotte, The Story So Far, Chevelle, U2, Bring Me The Horizon, Motion City Soundtrack, The Dangerous Summer Artists: Avril Lavigne, Lacey Sturm, Lana Del Rey, Lady Gaga, Eminem, Tom Petty, Gwen Stefani, Katy Perry, Halsey

What inspires you to make music?

The good feeling I get from it, the artists who inspire me and the people I think it could help who feel the same way I felt when I was writing a particular song.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

It's okay to feel. To feel angry, sad, anxious, depressed, alone etc. You are not alone. There will be better days after the terrible ones. If I can face hard times so can you. It's okay to be yourself and to be different. F@#$ fitting in!

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

It's one of the greatest feelings ever! I love to see people connect with what I'm saying and having a great time!

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

I see a lot of artists and bands so focused on making it and being famous that their authenticity and content suffers because they have nothing real to say. They try too hard without making an emotional connection to fans. I want to see more authenticity, music that matters and impacts people.

What do you think of Drooble?

I haven't been on it long enough to really say but, I think a place where artists can share their art and connect is really exciting and I cant wait to hear and be heard, to be inspired and to inspire.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Lacking the $ to get my music out there and tour.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

I did for awhile. I'd go out to shows every weekend, buy music and merch, share content. There was one local alternative rock band I supported a lot and then about a year after discovering them, I ended up playing many of the same shows with them when I became a part of my local scene as the lead singer for a local pop punk band. I liked being a part of the scene as a musician more than I did just watching as a fan. The local band I joined got their first encore request and first award nomination in 4 years in the same year I joined. Unfortunatly, things didn't work out and I decided to leave that band. I was 1 of 4 members who left all within 6 months. They are no longer a band. Since then I've been focusing on my own music and ideas. I still support local bands and artists I like by buying and listening to their content.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

My guess? Connect with your fans. Don't be afraid of rejection. Put yourself out there. Keep grinding.

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

Michael "Duds" McDonald and Elvis Herrera are insanely talented guitar players and friends of mine. Josh Zurek is a talented singer and songwriter. You can find all 3 of them on YouTube.
