Joshua Allen

Joshua Allen and The SMS

September, 29th 1993.... Joshua Allen Burbey arrived into this world. Born in New Albany, Mississippi. Southern roots and hospitality have been apart of him since birth. Life wasn't always candy and roses but somehow he has managed to captivate the essence of life and its been a ride ever sense. Growing up in a little town named Russellville in the deep south of Alabama sure was a lot of fun. I mean whats not to like about the south? Am I right? The people, weather, food, and of course MUSIC is amazing. Only a short 30 minute drive from the ever so famous Muscle Shoals, was just a strike in the young mind of Joshua. For a trip to the Muscle Shoals Rock N' Roll hall of fame would forever change his life. In 2007 Joshua Allen moved to Rolla, Missouri and really started exploring his musical endeavors. Starting with the drum set, he taught himself how to play and was soon playing for his church 3 times a week. However that wasn't all he did musically, he also joined choir in 9th grade and the instructor began to notice his talent. He was hungry to do as much as he could with his God given talent. So, he formed a metal band and that really never got farther then the basement, He continued playing in church and singing in choir for the net couple years. Also, jamming with anyone who would let him. He picked up the guitar his Sophomore year in high school and dove in head first. He started playing more and more every day till he noticed he could play just about any song he heard. He formed a band his Senior year of high school called "3's A Crowd' and they played anywhere and every where. Local bars, festivals, parties and more. Though never really getting out of the phelps county region. Come his senior year his band mates left for college and he was left alone just him, his voice and his guitar. that didn't stop him as he began going to open mics and playing acoustic gigs here and there. He started playing with local favorites and started getting more and more exposure, drifting from job to job. All he wanted and strived for was to make a career out of music. Which leads us to the present. Joshua released his first solo Ep in November of 2017 and gained quit a bit of exposure from it. touring constantly and finally forming a group of guys together, they became "Joshua Allen and The Show Me Saints" making their name known all around Missouri for the last year. With the release of their new record "A Night at Gaslight" in January of 2019, they've seemed to make some noise in the red dirt industry. In 2018 alone they tackled over 145 shows in 7 states and 2019 looks to be even better. Be on the lookout for JASMS in a ciry near you SOON!
