Jon Darren

singer/songwriter/producer/instrumentalist

I'm a guitar player first. But (funny story) I actually was (or am still) a pretty well known independent hip-hop producer from the Bay area. Did over 100 records in that genre. then Last year I started song writing and playing guitar more than I had in years to cope with a divorce I was taking pretty badly. I also happen to have been managing a big recording studio at the time so it all just kind of fell into place, I started just messing w covers, which led to originals being written and me just not questioning it or being scared of what people thought (changing from gangster rap to folk isn't exactly what my circle was expecting lol) but I'm all about paying attention to the signs the universe gives me. so this is just me following the signs. Well, the experience was so rewarding that I am now all in as an ssw. If you like to know more just ask me.
